Economy & Currencies

Every currency in the game, what it's for, and which store it unlocks.

Cross-reference: basic resources (Food, Iron, Gold, Oil) are covered on the Buildings & Base page since they're tied directly to production buildings. This page focuses on premium currencies and the various event/store currencies layered on top.

Premium Currencies

Diamonds

The game's core premium currency. Diamonds can be bought with real money or earned free through events, achievements, campaign stages, arena victories, and milestone rewards. They're spent on VIP Points, VIP Store items, the Diamond Store, and activating VIP Status. Because Diamonds are flexible and can go toward almost anything, most guides recommend spending them with a specific goal in mind rather than on whatever's immediately available.

Gold Bricks

A currency tier above Diamonds, existing outside the standard resource economy — best understood as a premium payment currency rather than a direct exchange for any single system. Gold Bricks are obtained almost exclusively through official real-money purchase channels, with occasional appearances as rewards for major milestones (see the ID Rewards Center section below for a current example). They redeem eligible gift packs, passes, and permanent upgrades in the Mall — not every pack qualifies, and redeeming one also grants the same purchase/event points a real-money purchase would.

Confirmed pack/pass categories, in a commonly recommended priority order: Taylor and other permanent survivor benefits first; permanent infrastructure like a second Builder or second Tech Center (value depends on how far along your account already is); a Season Battle Pass you'll actually complete; a Hero Growth or Exclusive Weapon pass for a hero in your main lineup; a Drone Training pass if drone progression is a current priority; other rotating passes matched to your immediate goals. Armament materials, Drone Parts, Diamonds, speed-ups, and raw resources can all turn up inside eligible packs, but Gold Bricks aren't a direct currency for any of them specifically — treat generic resource or speed-up packs as a last resort, not a default. Offers rotate with season, server, and game version, so there's no obligation to spend the moment Gold Bricks arrive — saving them is often the better call, since free ones are far harder to replace than ones you'd otherwise pay for.

The VIP System

Two Separate Layers: Level and Status

VIP is commonly misunderstood because it's actually two independent systems sharing one name:

  • VIP Level (permanent) — raised by accumulating VIP Points. Once earned, a level never decreases or resets, and the unlocks tied to reaching it (like Agent Shirley at VIP 8, or the second builder queue at VIP 6) stay active forever, regardless of whether VIP Status is currently running.
  • VIP Status / Time (temporary) — activated by spending Diamonds (commonly 10,000 Diamonds for 30 days). This is what actually turns on your level's percentage-based bonuses, like construction speed or resource production. A high VIP Level with no active Status is providing none of its percentage bonuses.

Earning VIP Points

The Daily VIP Chest is the most reliable free source, offering up to 200 points per day just for logging in — missing days adds up to a real, permanent loss over time. Alliance Gift Chests (triggered when alliance members buy packs or complete activities) are the best passive source for active players in a generous alliance. VIP Points can also be bought directly with Diamonds, commonly at a 1:1 rate with a cap per purchase, though this is generally only efficient when you're close to a level that actually matters to you.

The VIP Store

A separate shop, also paid for in Diamonds, offering steep discounts (sometimes up to 80% off) on items like speedups, Legendary recruitment tickets, stamina, and hero EXP. It's accessible to every player regardless of active VIP Status, but higher VIP Levels unlock more items and better prices. Its inventory resets weekly on Monday.

Event & Store Currencies

Earned Through Play, Spent in a Matching Store

Beyond Diamonds and VIP Points, several narrower currencies exist, each earned from a specific activity and spendable only in its own store:

CurrencyEarned FromSpent In
Honor PointsAlliance Duel and other recurring eventsHonor Store — mainly Gear Blueprints (see Gear & Equipment)
Valor BadgesThe weekly VS / Alliance Duel eventThe Alliance Duel research branch (see Research)
Campaign MedalsClearing Campaign stages in the Alert TowerCampaign Store, which fully restocks every Monday
Alliance ContributionDonating to Alliance Tech, aiding builds/research, alliance tasks, sending trade trucksAlliance Store (see Alliance)
Season Merit MedalsGeneral progress within the current seasonThe cross-season Season Store (see Seasons & Story)
Battle Data & Drone PartsZombie hunts and Radar MissionsDrone leveling directly (see The Drone)

The common thread: donating or earning "on-purpose" toward the currency you actually need is almost always more efficient than letting it accumulate passively and figuring out what to spend it on later.

ID Rewards Center (Last War ID)

What It Is

Officially called Last War ID, this is a free bonus system that lives outside the game on its own website rather than inside a normal in-game store. Link your character to it once, then earn ID Points just from playing normally — logging in, donating to Alliance Tech, using speed-ups — and spend those points on real items like hero shards, resource chests, drone parts, and speed-ups. It's entirely free and official (built by the game's own developers), with no catch to using it. Activating it for the first time grants 1,000 free ID Points immediately.

How To Register

  1. Tap your profile picture (top-left of the screen), then tap Account on the bottom bar.
  2. Find the Last War ID section showing your Points balance, tap Activate My Reward Card, then tap Activate.
  3. This opens the official Last War ID website inside the game — log in with your email address and the verification code sent to it.
  4. Your 1,000 free Points land in your account immediately once logged in.

If your account isn't linked to an email yet, do that first (Profile → Account) — you'll need it to log in. An error on activation is usually just a busy server; wait a moment and try again.

Where To Find It Again

In-game (easiest): Profile picture (top-left) → Account → Last War ID — opens the site inside the game, already linked to your character.

From a browser: go directly to id.lastwar.com. A device you haven't used before may ask for a fresh verification code.

What You Can Get

The Points Store restocks weekly, so it's worth checking every few days rather than once. Weekly Tasks — simple actions like logging in on consecutive days or using speed-ups — currently pay 50 ID Points each and also reset weekly; points from tasks can take up to 24 hours to actually appear, so don't worry if they're not instant.

Separately, Last War occasionally runs limited-time bonus giveaways through the same website — milestone Gold Brick giveaways tied to the game's total registration count, each with its own eligibility window and requirements (such as a minimum character age or Base Level). If you don't qualify for one the moment it appears, it's often worth checking back once you do.

A concrete example, current as of this page's writing: the 800,000-registration milestone giveaway offers 6,000 free Gold Bricks, claimable from August 18, 2026 to February 13, 2027 (server time). Eligibility is Servers 3–2450, a character at least 60 days old, with Base Level 12+. Claim it by logging into the official website — the reward arrives via in-game mail — and if the claim option doesn't appear, log out and back in using your email address rather than assuming you're ineligible. For a free windfall like this specifically, the same priority order above applies: permanent benefits (Taylor, a second Builder/Tech Center) and a pass you'll actually finish before generic resource packs.

Store Buy Priorities (Community Opinion)

This section is opinion, not fact: it reflects one experienced player's view on what's generally worth buying or skipping in each store, including a small amount of real-money guidance. Treat it as a starting point, not a rule — your own priorities may reasonably differ.

Free & Earned-Currency Stores

  • Diamond Store — generally worth skipping entirely unless you have a specific, immediate need.
  • VIP Store — Speed-ups, UR Universal Shards, and Skill Chip Chests are the priority buys here.
  • Alliance Store — mostly worth buying into, especially Speed-ups, Drone Parts, UR Universal Shards, and Skill Chip Chests; skip anything situational you're not actively using.
  • Honor Store — skip until you specifically need Gear Blueprints.
  • Campaign Store — prioritize the top row of items first; everything else is situational depending on what you personally need.

Real Money Store

Best buys: the initial Buy Pack (which includes Kimberly), the 2nd and 3rd Builder unlocks (the 4th is optional), the 2nd Tech Center, and Custom Weekly Passes.

Good buys: the Taylor Survivor pack (see the Survivors page for her exact value breakdown), Warrior Passes, event passes advertised at over 8,000% value, the Monthly Pass, and the Daily Sale Pack.

Generally worth avoiding: plain Diamond packs (including the Growth Fund) — these tend to offer the weakest direct value compared to the named packs above.
